Air conditioner blower blows the air into the room through the evaporator coils. To clean aircon blower in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor area can be done in two ways. One way is not dismantle the blower fan blades the other one is to remove the fan blades out to be cleaned.
It is highly necessary to clean air conditioner blower at least in every 6 months period in order to get rid of molds and fungus which are dangerous to your health.
Both methods can be done by any individual. Of course, you can call the technical service to do it but you can also do it on your own. In both methods, you should remove the plastic cover of the indoor unit of your air conditioner.
- Not removing the fan blades out of the indoor unit:
After you remove the plastic cover, you can either use chemical spray to the coil as well as the fan blades on the wheel which both have the mold and fungus or organic cleaners like vinegar and baking soda.
When you spray the chemicals or organic cleaner you need to wait. Let the chemical works and clean the coils. You have to spray to the blades on the fan wheel as well while pushing with your finger to turn 360 degrees. If you help fan wheels turn you can only push the chemical or organic cleaner into each individual blades on the wheel.
- If you use vinegar and baking soda together you need to wait at least 1 hour to work on the molds. If you are using natural organic cleaners use an old toothbrush to clean the coil fins and fan blades as much as you can reach.
- After you apply the chemical you need to wait at least 20 minutes After both chemicals work on the mold, you need to wash with the pressurized water by the hand pump.
Don’t forget to put plastic funnel type cover to protect your furniture’s not getting spotted from dirty water. After rinsing the coils as well as the fan wheel you can use a paper towel to dry the surface of all wet area.
- Removing the fan blades out of the indoor unit:
This process is the same as above additionally, you need to remove the fan wheel from below the coils. You need to unscrew a couple of screws and pull the coils a little bit up. You can reach from one side of the indoor unit to take the fan wheel out. When you take the wheel out, you can show some special attention to it.
The drying process is the same above. After you finish the cleaning, you put all dismantle parts back into their respective locations.
